On Sunday, May 23, Shasta Classics had the honor of viewing the collection of James Beursken, who passed away in 2018. Over 30 cars left My-T-Fine Foods at 10:30 am and arrived at the collection on Intermountain Road at 10:40. Unfortunately, the parking was sparse but we all managed to find a place to put our classic and modern cars. We were met by Mike Beursken, Mr. Beursken’s oldest son. He told us the history of the collection and then took the group on a tour of the museum, 15 members at a time. The rest of us waited for our turn and wandered around the property. We saw the old City of Redding Amusement Park’s merry-go-round, rode on the train, ate ice cream cones, viewed an immense collection of farm equipment, saw lots of un-restored and restored classic cars and two drag strip cars, saw other collectibles nicely displayed in a kitchen, a laundry area, dental office, ice cream parlor, gas station, bar and blacksmith shop, the old Oregon Trail stagecoach and visited with Mr. Beursken’s wife, Dorie, and their neighbors. The hospitality that the Beurskens showed us was amazing! After viewing the collection, 28 of us headed to Matzatlan Grill for lunch. A very good day
